Overview

Use PayPress to sell a digital product with a simple Stripe Checkout payment button. This works well for templates, downloads, presets, guides, or other digital goods when delivery is handled separately.

When to Use This Setup

Use this setup when you want to collect payment for a digital product but do not need PayPress to automatically deliver files yet. Digital Downloads are a future roadmap item, so delivery should currently happen by email, member area, or another tool.

Requirements

  • PayPress connected to Stripe.
  • A One-Time Payment plan.
  • A product page.
  • A delivery process outside PayPress.

Configuration Steps

  1. Create a One-Time Payment plan.
  2. Enter the product price and currency.
  3. Add a clear plan name, such as “Design Template Pack”.
  4. Optional: add a plan image.
  5. Optional: add a Payment Form if you need customer details.
  6. Add the shortcode to the product page.
  7. Complete a test payment.
  8. Confirm the order appears in PayPress.

Recommended Settings

  • Payment Type: One-Time Payment.
  • Customer Notes: optional.
  • Payment Forms: optional for product preferences.
  • Shipping Collection: disabled for digital products.
  • Refund Button: enable only if your refund policy allows admin refunds.

Testing Checklist

  • Test checkout in Stripe Test Mode.
  • Confirm the success page works.
  • Confirm receipt link appears when available.
  • Confirm the order contains the correct product, amount, and customer email.
  • Confirm your separate delivery process works.

Expected Result

Customers can buy the digital product through Stripe Checkout, and PayPress records the order in WordPress.
